Overview
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Scaffolder Course is an intensive twelve-week program designed to provide comprehensive training in scaffold erection, dismantling, and safety. This course covers all essential aspects of scaffolding, equipping students with the skills needed to safely and effectively construct and manage scaffolding systems on various job sites.
The course begins with an introduction to the tools, materials, and safety protocols essential for scaffolding. Students will learn to interpret scaffolding blueprints and plans, and understand the fundamental principles of scaffold design and load-bearing capacities.
In the initial weeks, students will focus on the basics of scaffold assembly, including the selection and installation of components such as tubes, couplers, and boards. They will gain practical experience in assembling various types of scaffolding systems, including frame, modular, and suspended scaffolds.
As the course progresses, students will delve into more advanced scaffolding techniques, including the design and installation of complex scaffold systems for challenging environments. This includes working on irregular surfaces, handling high-rise scaffolds, and implementing specialized safety measures.
Midway through the course, students will explore advanced topics such as scaffold inspection and maintenance, ensuring that structures remain safe and compliant with industry standards. They will learn to conduct thorough inspections, identify potential hazards, and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
Towards the end of the course, students will gain practical experience through hands-on projects that involve designing, assembling, and dismantling scaffold systems in simulated job site conditions. They will apply their skills to real-world scenarios, demonstrating their ability to handle various scaffold types and configurations effectively.
The course concludes with a final assessment, where students will be tested on their ability to plan, execute, and manage scaffold projects. This assessment will integrate all the techniques and knowledge gained throughout the course, ensuring readiness for professional scaffolding roles.
