COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Cloud Computing with Azure course is an intensive twelve-week program designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Azure and its suite of cloud services. Students will begin by setting up their Azure environments and learning the core concepts of cloud computing and the Azure ecosystem.

The course kicks off with an introduction to Azure, covering foundational services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, and Azure Active Directory. Students will learn how to deploy and manage virtual machines, handle data storage, and configure identity and access management with Azure AD.

As the course advances, students will explore more complex Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, and Azure Resource Manager. They will gain expertise in managing relational databases, implementing serverless computing solutions, and using infrastructure-as-code to automate and streamline cloud resource management.

In the subsequent weeks, students will focus on Azure networking and security, including Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, and Azure Firewall. They will learn to design secure, scalable network architectures and apply best practices for protecting cloud resources and data.

Midway through the course, attention shifts to monitoring and optimizing Azure environments using tools like Azure Monitor, Azure Advisor, and Cost Management + Billing. Students will acquire skills in tracking resource utilization, optimizing performance, and managing cloud expenses efficiently.

Towards the latter part of the course, advanced topics such as Azure App Services for application hosting, Azure DNS for domain management, and Azure Blob Storage for data archiving and backup are covered. Students will gain hands-on experience deploying and managing applications, as well as implementing high-availability solutions.

The course culminates in a project where students design, implement, and manage a comprehensive cloud infrastructure solution using Azure. This capstone project will integrate all the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the course, showcasing their ability to create and manage scalable, secure cloud environments.
