From IAB to SEEDS (Study to Embrace Employable Digital Skills)
On Thursday, November 24, Hazza Institute of Technology arranged a symposium on the topic of IT-Industry-Academia Linkages with a focus on the role of the IT industry in the development of Pakistan’s economy. The symposium was organized at the Department of CS & IT of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology FUUAST.
The opening remarks were made by the Vice Chancellor of FUUAST, Professor Dr. Zia Uddin, in which he welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the importance of the IT industry in the development of Pakistan’s economy.
Mr. Shaukat Ali, Technical Director of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) also addressed the symposium and shared that PSEB’s industry support programs, developed in consultation with the IT Industry, have been instrumental in strengthening the IT sector of Pakistan and its contributions to Pakistan’s economy over the last decade.
Mr. Azhar Sindhu, (Managing Director, Hazza Institute of Technology) emphasized the importance of learning the latest IT skills in the current era. He announced the launch of HIT’s new program SEEDS (Study to Embrace Employable Digital Skills). He said that HIT offers the latest IT courses which are designed to meet the needs of the IT industry & the institute also provides
Professor Dr. Brigadier Ashraf, Director of Training Hazza Institute, said that university graduates need to learn top-tier technologies and skills as opposed to going for low-tier skills.
Mr. Babar Zahoor (Founder of Open Source Foundation Pakistan, OSFP) emphasized the importance of learning employable digital skills.
At the end of the symposium, certificates were also distributed among the trainees who successfully completed their training for the IT Industry-Academia Bridge Program (IAB).
