A successful event of IT- Industry Academia Bridge Program Summit was conducted in Islamabad on August 3, 2022.During the summit various notable personalities from government, academia & industries addressed the audience and expressed their serenity upon achieving a major milestone of distinctive linkage of academia with industry to provide training opportunities & skill enhancement programs for students and teachers.
During the summit, the chief guest Air Marshal (Rtd.) Javed Ahmed VC of Air University, appreciated the vital & unique layout of Industry-academia Bridge Programme & ratified that IT is the way forward for the countries like Pakistan.
Mr. Azhar Sindhu, Managing Director Hazza Institute of Technology said that Hazza institute of Technology is dedicated to improve employability in Pakistan through education, training & placement. He further informed the audience about newly launched job portal for which an agreement is being signed with Japanese companies with an intent to create employment for a significant number of people in Pakistan.
Brig. (Rtd) Prof. Dr. Ashraf Masood, Director training of Hazza Institute of Technology briefed the audience about the execution of the project, shared statistics and appreciated the program designers who actually linked the industry with academia.
Mr. Osman Nasir, Managing Director Pakistan Export Board (PSEB) emphasized the role IT industry can play in bolstering the economy of Pakistan, he articulated the importance of young generation and their duty in current economic crises of the country.
Syed Junaid Imam, Member IT from Ministry of IT, addressed the audience on the behalf of Federal Secretary IT, Mr. Mohsin Mushtaq and expressed his views on narrowing down the gap between academia & IT industry & importance of learning of soft skills.
A panel discussion on the topic of IT landscape of Pakistan was also arranged. Ms Hira Zainab, Secretary General Pasha, Mr Farhan Ali, Director solutions Huawei Cloud, Mr Raza Ahmed Sukhaira, Director skills and capacity Development at PSEB & MD PSEB, were amongst the panellist and discussed the opportunities and challenges regarding the growth of IT industry in Pakistan.
By the end of the session certificates were distributed among the trainees who completed their trainings in IT-industry Academia Bridge Program, and the summit was concluded with the hope that more industries will come forward to bridge the gap between IT industry & academia to lead towards prosperous Pakistan.
